Short history:
In 1934 the MSrE decided to develop a new training glider with improved performance to substitute the Hol's der Teufel. It was designated M-20, however as training gliders of that era were classed as B category gliders the nickname EMESE B stuck to it (EMESE is the Hungarian pronunciation of acronym MSrE).
The EMESE B had been crashed in 1937 and its pilot was compelled by the Aero Club to redesign the glider with a steel-tube structure fuselage. The wings of the EMESE B were attached to the plywood covered new fuselage. This version got the name of EMESE C. First flight took place in the autumn of 1937.

Structure:  All wooden (B), wooden with steel tube truss girder fuselage (C).
   Wing:
The double spar wing had streamlined 'V' struts. The wing in front of the fore spar was covered by plywood and behind by fabric.
   Fuselage:
The fore part of the fuselage consisted of a strong wooden keel and a plywood/fabric covered open nacelle. Behind the wing trailing edge the fuselage was a wire braced flat open frame.
   Tail unit:
The traditionally arranged tail unit was covered by fabric.
